Syd is one half of top comedy duo 'Little & Large'. They have received numerous awards for their TV, club and theatre performances throughout the country and for their TV show that ran for many years. They have regularly broken box-office records for pantomime.

Syd was born in Blackpool and was playing guitar and singing long before he met Eddie Large. 'I enjoyed my job as a painter and decorator. I still do all my own decorating and even Eddie's! But entertainment has always been part of my life.'

Blackpool has always played a large part in Syd's life, and today he lives there with his wife Sheree and son Dominic. In 1995 Little & Large opened the prestigious new night spot The Paradise Rooms on the Pleasure Beach, and after sixteen weeks of sell-out business were immediately booked for the following season. But although 1995 was a year of professional success, it was also a year of deep personal tragedy. His eldest son died of a drug overdose, and his daughter had her throat cut by an enraged boyfriend. 'I have always been a churchgoer and believed in God,' says Syd, 'but somehow that didn't have much to do with the realities of life and the difficulties I was facing.'

The breakthrough for Syd came the following year. The Cannon & Ball Show, starring another of Britain's top comedy duos, was running at the Grand Theatre. The organisation Christians in Entertainment invited several of the comics then appearing in Blackpool to a comedian's Bible Study in Bobby Ball's dressing room backstage. For Syd, it was a revelation that changed his life. 'It was there that I finally asked God into my life. We had a great time discovering how relevant he is to our everyday lives. Now I know that whatever happens, God is with me, and helps me through.'

An Evening with Syd Little is an invitation to hear about the life, work and faith of one of Britain's best-loved comedy stars. The programme is co-presented by Chris Gidney of Christians in Entertainment. Comedy and song share the bill with Syd's story of revitalised Christian conviction. This highly professional event featuring one of the best-known names in British entertainment will intrigue and attract the general public, and will be an effective, clear introduction to your church and to the gospel.
