Peter Goodwright is a skilled and versatile entertainer whose career has included broadcasting, stage shows and live theatre. He is very well known as a mimic and his superb sense of comedy timing has kept him busy for thirty years, in Britain and overseas, appearing in Royal Command Performances, London Palladium productions, summer seasons, pantomime and variety. A leading figure in entertainment, he has also been much admired as a character artiste and straight actor. His credits include Feste in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, John Smith in Ray Cooney's Run For Your Life, and (in the course of each performance) no less than 26 characters in the musical Gert and Daisy in which he appeared with Sylvia Sims and Rosemary Leach. He is equally at home introducing choral concerts in Salisbury Cathedral and narrating Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with the Rutland Symphony Orchestra.

Norma was a dancer when she met Peter at Manchester Playhouse. Two grown-up children later she has trained as a Reader and Lay Pastoral Assistant in the Church of England, where she finds a sense of humour to be one of the Lord's greatest gifts!

Peter is a celebrated raconteur and is much in demand as an after-dinner speaker, when – as in all his talks – he draws on his long and varied career for a fund of often hilarious anecdotes. His work in radio has been prolific, and in his series, Peter Goodwright's Radio Times (Radio 2), he recalled his early days 'on the wireless'. He is a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats and helps with numerous other charities whenever possible. He values highly the opportunities to share his faith in radio, outreach concerts and a successful series of audio and video recordings of stories for children for Scripture Union.

Expect an evening with Peter and Norma to provide a fascinating glimpse into the world of entertainment, much laughter and some more serious moments, and the opportunity for you and your friends to meet two people who, above all the excitement and glitter of their professional lives, want to share with you the most exciting Good News they know.
